Working Groups

Working groups are the primary means for how people volunteer with OPIRG Brock. Working groups work on a variety of environmental and social justice issues depending on the interest of their members. Working groups receive a variety of support from OPIRG to help with establishing their group. All volunteers within the working groups are required to participate in anti-oppression, and consensus decision-making training. OPIRG also offers a variety of other trainings for volunteers are more effective at creating positive change.

To start a working group, interested parties must fill out an Working Group Application Form (pdf) . Applications are considered twice a year, in September, and in January. Applicants must meet with OPIRG’s Board of Directors to present their application. Working Groups are required to meet with the OPIRG Volunteer Coordinator regularly, and file a year-end report.
